For a long time, headaches were just part of the routine for this patient, especially after spending time on the computer. Like many people, they assumed it was something they simply had to deal with. But after starting vision therapy, things began to improve.
Before therapy, the patient experienced headaches almost every day. Much of their work involved being on the computer, and they could usually work for about an hour before the strain started building up. Eventually, the discomfort would turn into a headache. They also noticed neck and jaw tension, especially after long periods of focusing on close-up tasks. Over time, the symptoms became frustrating and made it harder to get through the day comfortably.
Another part of the problem was how often their eyes had to adjust to different tasks throughout the day. Shifting focus repeatedly was tiring, and their eyes had difficulty keeping up, which added to the overall strain.
During vision therapy, the patient worked on exercises designed to help their eyes focus more easily and work together more efficiently. One exercise involved focusing on something close up and then shifting focus to something farther away. Practicing this skill helped improve their visual flexibility and made it easier for their eyes to adjust throughout the day.
Over time, they noticed that their eyes felt more comfortable handling everyday visual tasks and that they had more flexibility in what their eyes could tolerate. For this patient, vision therapy helped address symptoms that had been affecting their daily life for years. Headaches and eye strain during screen time had started to feel normal, but improving how their eyes focused and worked together made a meaningful difference in their day-to-day comfort.
